Modern Bangkok has a penchant for flyovers - rather than integrate pedestrian crossing into massive intersections, the city goes vertical. And there is something about them - a feeling of being above the fray.
100 long years ago, the Thai King Chulalongkorn took a regal tour through Europe. His accounts of the trip were compiled into the book 'Glai Baan'. Had Al Gore invented the internet before the turn of the 20th century, I have no doubt King Chula would have skipped the book and been a tireless blogger.
